Marketingopoly - “Helping Contractors Grow in the New Economy”, A Collection of Strategic Marketing Articles for Contractors
Helping contractors grow their business may be the secret weapon to growing your business. Successful companies know that marketing is not a game. It requires planning, creativity and a commitment to execution.

Distribution Equipment / Control Manufacturer Brand Preference Study
The switchgear / distribution equipment market represents between 10-15% of the average electrical distributor’s sales and is an important product category when trying to build contractor and industrial business. Distributors typically identify their business by their distribution line and customers then consolidate more of their purchases with these key distributors. And every distributor knows the value of a good gear specialist.
With gear being so important, and the electrical industry’s perception that the value of brands is declining, Channel Marketing Group introduces its Brand Preference Reports.
These report asks end-users (contractors, direct end-users and influencers) which brands they prefer as well as which brands they recognize. “Prefer” is defined as brands they “recommend, purchase or install” and “recognize” was defined as “occasionally purchase or notice the name.”
The first report is switchgear / distribution equipment. Input was received in the for product categories:
Low Voltage Switchgear, MV Switchgear, MV Motor Control Centers, LV Motor Control , Switchboard, Air Circuit Breakers, Molded Case breakers, Distribution Panelboards, Sub-metering, Safety Switches, Dry Type Distribution, Transformers, AC Drives and BuswayReports are available, segmented by contractor, industrial / utility, commercial / institution and influencer, for a national profile, 8 regional profiles and for selected states. The national report is $1,850, regional reports are $495 and state reports are $295.
Recipients can also use the results in their marketing campaigns. For more information, contact David Gordon.
